The Foreign Ministry commented on the Russian strike on Ukraine's Donetsk region in a post on the social platform X on Wednesday. “The recent intensified attacks against civilian targets across Ukraine, the brutal strike on Yarova against innocent civilians and on the main government building in Kyiv are unacceptable and have once again demonstrated Russia's determination to continue the war rather than pursue peace," the Foreign Ministry post said.
"All measures to support Ukraine and exert pressure on Russia must be applied consistently to achieve an unconditional ceasefire and a comprehensive and just peace. Bulgaria stays in solidarity with Ukraine,” the post added.
On Tuesday a Russian airstrike killed more than 20 civilians in the village of Yarova, Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian National News Agency, Ukrinform, quoted President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s post on Telegram on the attack:
"A brutally savage Russian airstrike with an aerial bomb on the rural settlement of Yarova in the Donetsk region. Directly on people. Ordinary civilians. At the very moment when pensions were being disbursed. According to preliminary information, more than 20 people were killed. There are no words… I express my condolences to the families and relatives of the victims."
