Bessarabian Bulgarian Awarded Ukrainian Order of Courage Posthumously

Bessarabian Bulgarian Denis Prodanov from the village of Zaliznychne, Bolhrad District, was awarded posthumously the Order of Courage, Third Degree, by decree of the President of Ukraine, the Bolhrad District State Administration reported on their website. The award and certificate of appreciation were presented to the family of junior sergeant Prodanov.

The ceremony was attended by Mikhail Sharafanenko, Chair of the Bolhrad District State Administration, and Vera Nikolaenko, Secretary of the Bolhrad Municipal Council.

Denis Prodanov was born in the village of Glavani, Artsyz Municipality, but moved to the village of Zaliznychne more than ten years ago. He joined the ranks of the territorial defence forces in the first days of the full-scale war. He was killed in battle on November 16, 2024, near the village of Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In honour of the fallen Bulgarian, one of the streets in Zaliznychne was named after him.
