145 New Cases,
Test Positivity Rate at 0.9%
Sofia, July 21 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in
Bulgaria reached 423,223, after 15,993 tests identified 145 new
infections on Tuesday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
0.9 per cent.
The active cases are 7,391. Currently, the hospitalized patients
number 722, including 82 in intensive care.
Another 285 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 397,648.
Seven fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up
to 18,184.
The share of fully vaccinated people is 13 per cent.

Chief State Health Inspector Angel Kunchev told journalists here later on Wednesday that one in three newly registered COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria is of the delta variant. It's obvious that the decline in newly reported cases has stopped, he said, adding that the situation will remain calm until the end of July, after which new infections will increase in frequency, as is the case in other countries. Morbidity in different European countries is within a very large range. This difference between Bulgaria and the UK is currently 108 times, Kunchev said. RI/ZH, MY
