Sofia, July 30 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 424,526, after 15,092 tests identified 231 new infections on Thursday, according to data posted Friday on the national coronavirus information platform at
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
1.53 per cent.

The capital Sofia tops the list of new cases with 43 positive
tests.

The active cases are 7,882. Currently, the hospitalized patients
number 764, including 79 in intensive care.

Three fatalities are reported, and the death toll now adds up to
18,208.

With 12,222 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,013,988
persons in aggregate have received a coronavirus vaccination so far, including 991,535 who are fully vaccinated.

The National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases has confirmed 57 cases of COVID-19's Delta variant, the Health Ministry reported Friday. A total of 90 clinical samples were tested, of which 33 (36.7 per cent) were of the Alpha variant and 57 (63.3 per cent) of the Delta variant. The samples were taken from COVID-19 patients between June 29 and July 16 and have been collected from 18 different regions across the country. RI/MY
