COVID-19 Update:
429 New Cases,
Test Positivity Rate at 2.06%


Sofia, August 5 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
in Bulgaria reached 426,432, after 20,868 tests identified 429
new infections on Wednesday, according to data posted Thursday
on the national coronavirus information platform at
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
2.06 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 105 positive
tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 56 and Bourgas Region
with 35.

The active cases are 9,482. Currently, the hospitalized patients
number 955, including 90 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 13,495, with 5 new cases
detected since Wednesday.

Fifty-two COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 398,721.

Four fatalities are reported, and the death toll now adds up to
18,229.

With 12,655 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,063,643
persons in aggregate have received a coronavirus vaccination so
far, including 1,020,327 who are fully vaccinated.
