COVID-19 Cluster Reported
among Bulgarian Students
on Language Camp in Austria

Sofia, August 10 (BTA) - A COVID-19 cluster was reported among a group of Bulgarian students on a language summer camp in the southern Austrian town of Knappenberg, the Health Ministry reported here on Tuesday.

The Bulgarian group arrived in Austria on August 1, when everyone presented a negative COVID-19 test. The children were subsequently tested every 48 hours. The first positive test results came on August 9 and those infected were immediately isolated by the local healthcare authorities.

Fourteen of the 51 children aged 14 to 16 have tested positive for the coronavirus. They have not reported any symptoms. Two of the group's chaperones have also tested positive, one of whom is symptomatic.

The Bulgarian Health Ministry is organizing the transportation of the students and their chaperones back to Bulgaria. MY
