anti-COVID Measures

Sofia, August 27 (BTA) - The largest group in Parliament, There Is Such a People (TISP), urged the Health Minister to revoke his latest order on health safety measures because they offer ample room for interpretation and some employers are using it to set in place discriminatory restrictions.

TISP's Andrey Chorbanov, who read out the declaration, said his party is extremely concerned with an order by the rector of the Medical University in the southern city of Plovdiv, which requires students either to get vaccinated or get tested for COVID twice weekly in order to attend school.

According to Chorbanov similar ideas are promoted in other places which puts "in humiliating conditions students admitted on equal terms and who pay the same fees."

The TISP MP said that reports about future measures at schools which will require young students to wear masks, are just as equally concerning.

Chorbanov, who is a researcher at the Institute of Microbiology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, is an outspoken skeptic about the effect of the current approach to the coronavirus pandemic and mass vaccination. He is a proponent of leaving the pandemic take its own course and says that the large number of victims in Bulgaria are a result of the inadequate health care system and the poor health status of Bulgarians.
