COVID-19 Update:
496 New Cases,
Test Positivity Rate at 8.3%
Sofia, September 27 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 492,861, after 6,002 tests identified 496 new infections on Sunday, of whom 57 are vaccinated, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 8.3% per cent.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 192 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 48 cases and Burgas Region with 31.
The active cases are 42,325. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,078, including 418 in intensive care. Of the 165 new hospital admissions, 14 were vaccinated.
The infected medical staff have reached 14,365.
Another 540 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 430,047.
Forty fatalities were reported (including 4 vaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 20,489.
With 1,513 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,508,560 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,309,135 people are fully vaccinated. VE/LG
