Romania Introduces
14-Day Quarantine for
Arrivals from Bulgaria

Sofia, October 1 (BTA) - Romanian authorities introduce new restrictive measures for arrivals from Bulgaria starting at 12 am on October 3, after this country was added to the red zone, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

According to information from the Bulgarian Embassy in Bucharest, non-vaccinated passengers, who have not been infected from COVID-19 in the past or do not present a negative PCR test, will be subject to a 14-day quarantine.

An exception is made for vaccinated passengers, passengers with a negative PCR test, completed no more than 72 hours before entering Romania, or those who have recovered from COVID-19 no more than 180 days before entry, the Foreign Ministry added.

Children up to 12 years old are exempt from quarantining without having to present a negative PCR test, as are persons in transit, if they leave the country within 24 hours of their arrival. Children between 12 and 16 years old need a negative PCR test completed no more than 72 hours before arrival to be exempt from quarantining. VE/YV
