Lower Grade Students in 15 Regions
Continue Online Classes
Until Next Covid-19 Test Delivery

Sofia, November 9 (BTA) - Students in 15 Bulgarian regions will continue online classes until the delivery of another 200,000 rapid non-invasive Covid-19 tests. To date, these are not available at the Bulgarian Red Cross base in Lozen village near Sofia and their delivery date is unknown, the Education Ministry said Tuesday.

Last week, the Health Ministry chose two types of antigen saliva sample tests for the students and signed contracts with two distributors for a total of 400,000 tests. One of the distributors delivered 200,000 tests, which were immediately distributed in 13 regions, including Sofia city.

The next delivery will be distributed among the regions of Plovdiv, Ruse, Haskovo, Burgas, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Yambol, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Lovech, Vidin, Vratsa, Montana, Pernik, and Sofia region.

Parents and teachers will be notified immediately of the delivery. They will have two days in advance to prepare for the reestablishment of in-person education for students in grades 1 to 4.

Lower-grade students from the 13 regions that already have available tests and whose parents approve of student testing at school can attend in-person classes from Wednesday, November 10.
