Sofia, December 24 (BTA) - Bulgarian healthcare professionals confirmed 1,966 new cases of COVID-19 in the country on Thursday, December 23 after 34,596 tests, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg. The test positivity rate for the day was 5.7 per cent.
Active COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria number 96,619. A total of 4,104 patients are in hospital, including 399 newly hospitalized people. Of the total, 479 are in intensive care.
Thursday saw 77 COVID-19 fatalities. Another 1,240 people recovered from the disease.
Unvaccinated persons accounted, respectively, for 93.51 per cent, 78.54 per cent and 86.97 per cent of fatalities, new cases and newly hospitalized patients. GG/VE
