Test Positivity Rate at 10.85%
Sofia, December 31 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 744,298, after 33,334 tests identified 3,616 new infections on Thursday, 75.8 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 10.85 per cent.
Sofia tops the list of new cases with 1,048 positive tests, followed by Burgas with 423 cases and Varna with 327.
The active cases are 101,579. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 4,100, including 467 in intensive care. Of the 550 hospital admissions, 87 per cent were not vaccinated.
Another 1,105 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 611,829.
Seventy-one fatalities were reported (92.96 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 30,890.
With 14,591 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,697,068 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,913,988 people are fully vaccinated, and 272,721 have received a booster jab.
