The National Book Press Club was opened on December 5, 2023 within the 50th jubilee Sofia International Book Fair. The mobile press club was set up as a result of a partnership agreement between the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the Bulgarian Book Association (BBA), signed on November 23, 2023 by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and BBA Board Chair Desislava Aleksieva.

"This will be the first national press club whose whereabouts will not be fixed but will be moving with the venue of the Book Fair. This tallies with the idea of reading because it enables you to be mobile," the BTA Director General said. "We will be covering all book launches, will be covering the [Sofia International] Literary Festival for Children and Young Adults that is held on the sidelines of the Fair. We will be covering all evenets at each of the fairs organized by BBA."

Within the framework of the Book Alley and the International Book Fair, BTA has a mobile National Press Club and a stand of its own.
