The National Press Club of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency /BTA/ in Taraclia, Republic of Moldova was initially opened on 6 October 2017 by the President of Moldova Igor Dodon, the Vice President of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova, the Mayor of Taraclia Sergey Filipov and the Director General of BTA Maxim Minchev.
A new home of the Press Club of BTA in Taraclia was opened on October 28, 2022. Its opening is a continuation of the Agency's policy to open such press clubs in all neighbouring countries, as well as in countries with large Bulgarian communities.
The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev. "I would like to wish for this press club to reinforce the ties and offer the Bulgarian community an even stronger inclusion," said President Radev during the opening, describing the venture as patriotic.
The opening ceremony was attended by Taraclia Mayor Vyacheslav Lupov, District Chairman Ivan Paslar, Bulgaria's Ambassador to Moldova Evgeni Stoychev, Bulgaria's Consul in Taraclia Lyubomir Dimov and representatives of local community organisations.
BTA Director General Kiril Valchev said that BTA's press club in Taraclia has found a new home during a symbolic year, when the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Moldova is observed, as well as on the eve of the Day of Bessarabian Bulgarians (October 29). "This is a home for all media - Moldovan and Bulgarian," said Valchev.
The hall, which is now at BTA's disposal, is located in one of the buildings of the University of Taraclia.
