site.btaSofia, Berlin Reaffirm Shared Aspiration to Stronger, More Competitive EU


On September 15, Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev held a telephone conversation with Germany's Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Georgiev's Ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.
The chief diplomats lauded the long-time fruitful friendship and interaction between their countries, both bilaterally and within the framework of the EU and NATO. The sides reaffirmed their aspiration to a stronger, more united and competitive EU possessing the capabilities necessary to meet current challenges.
The two foreign ministers discussed the existing potential for further deepening of bilateral cooperation in key sectors like economy and industry, security and defence, and for invigoration of the bilateral political dialogue.
Views were also exchanged on current topics on the European and Euro-Atlantic agenda and regarding the two countries' joint efforts towards building security and stability of the EU and on NATO's eastern flank, including in the Black Sea.
