Five people were injured in a Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian city of Odesa Monday night, Serhiy Lysak, head of the City Military Administration, said on his Telegram channel. The injured received medical assistance, Lysak added.
Damage was reported to residential buildings in the city centre, as well as to social infrastructure, including a hospital, a school, and a kindergarten, according to his update.
An operational taskforce has been deployed on site, and emergency services are responding to the consequences of the attack.
One person was injured by a Russian drone near the port of Chornomorsk in Odesa Oblast on Monday, Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported on Telegram.
Bulgarians in Odesa Region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
