The BiorestCup Culinary Competition will take place between December 5 to 7 at the Toplocentrala regional centre for contemporary art, the organizers reported. Some of the most prominent culinary talents in Bulgaria, as well as from the Balkans, will compete in the event.
The BiorestCup Culinary Competition is the first event of its kind in Bulgaria. It will combine a prestigious competition for the best professional chefs and bartenders, creative and business practical master classes, lectures by world-renowned names in the industry, and a special exhibition.
The purpose of the competition is to challenge the participants to show skills, creativity, and team spirit in front of prominent figures of Western cuisine, the event's organisers said. An international jury, composed of some of the most successful professionals in the field, will award the best team of chefs and the best mixologist of 2023.
The jury and special guests will include chef Eduard Azouza, head technologist of Sosa Ingredients; pastry chef Carles Mampel; mixologist Mark Alvarez, owner of Drink’s Atelie; sommelier Blagoy Kuzmanski; Michelin-starred chef Oriol Rovira, owner of Els Casals; mixologist Max La Rocca; twice Michelin-starred chef Diego Guerrero; and chef Paco Perez, holder of five Michelin stars and one of the most significant representatives of avant-garde gastronomy in the 21st century.
On December 5, for the first time in Bulgaria, five of these iconic names in the world of culinary will hold their master classes, including Chef Paco Perez, Diego Guerrero, Eduard Azuaza, Oscar Albignana, Oriol Rovira and Carles Mampel, the organisers said.
Also on December 5, seven master classes for professional bartenders, mixologists and hospitality experts will be held by Mark Alvarez, Max La Rocca, Blagoy Kuzmanski, and Rais Rais Esteve i Albareda from 100% Chef. Two more master classes are yet to be announced.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn the latest innovations and techniques, with the best and newest products available on the market.
The event will also include an exhibition area dedicated to food and beverages, as well as a dining area with selected menus.
