President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Rumen Radev visited the Arsenal military plant here on Friday. He was welcomed by General Director Nikolay Ibushev, Executive Director Hristo Ibushev, and Production Director Bilyan Toshkov.
During the visit, the head of State got acquainted with the production process and the prospects for the development of the plant.
After his visit, Radev congratulated the management and staff of Arsenal. "The honest Bulgarian business, which develops high-tech production, upholds Bulgaria's position and is successful on the world markets, and pays taxes in Bulgaria, deserves institutions' support. Particularly when a company like this one creates and maintains thousands of jobs and contributes to the whole region's development," Radev noted.
He said further that since his visit to Central Asia, the interest in this field from that region has been constantly growing. New opportunities are created both for export and industrial cooperation, he added.
At the end of April, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and European Council President Antonio Costa visited the Arsenal plant as part of efforts to demonstrate the potential of the Bulgarian defence industry. During their visit, the management of the enterprise presented the technological capabilities of the plant, the main production facilities, as well as the modernisation processes that are being actively implemented at the moment.
