site.btaUPDATED Vivacom Warns of Temporary Difficulties in Using Mobile Voice Communication Services, Mobile Internet

Mobile operator Vivacom warned on its website that its subscribers may experience temporary difficulties in using mobile voice communication services and mobile internet. "Our teams are actively working to restore normal network operation as soon as possible," the message said, but the cause of the problems was not specified, nor when they might be resolved.
Subscribers around the country reported difficulties in using services provided by the operator.
Later in the day, Vivacom told BTA that the reason for the technical problems in their mobile network was a software update carried out by a supplier of the company. Vivacom also indicated that they are working to fix the problems as soon as possible. "As a result, some of our subscribers may have experienced difficulties with voice calls and data services. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and are working as a matter of priority to fully rectify the problem and restore services as quickly as possible," the mobile operator added.
Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee Chair Kiril Dobrev said the Committee would request an official report from the Communications Regulation Commission to investigate the case of difficulties with access to Vivacom services, and to discuss further measures to improve prevention and response mechanisms for disruptions to the country's critical communications infrastructure.
