Without a strong agricultural sector, achieving solid economic development is not possible, said Vladimir Ivanov, Chair of the Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets State Commission, at a forum dedicated to the third anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Agrarian Chamber (BAC).

According to Ivanov, there is no developed economy in the world that does not have a developed agricultural sector, and it is an illusion that a good economy can be developed without an agricultural sector. He said that Bulgaria has enormous potential in this area, and the agricultural sector is where real added value is created.

Ivanov recommended that what was started by BAC three years ago should be completed, because unified representation means speaking on behalf of the entire sector. The application of science in business has also been left on the back burner, and without science there is no effective business, he added.
