The City Art Gallery in Plovdiv will host Contemporary Art Week from September 4, the Art Today Association said on Friday.

Amongst the participants in the exhibition will be the authors Aksiniya Peycheva, Valentin Stefanov, Velizar Dimchev and Georgi Georgiev-Jorrras. The curator of the art week is Emil Mirazchiev.

The theme of this year's 31st edition will be Light, More Light, with the words attributed to the German philosopher and writer Wolfgang Goethe, who said: "Where there is a lot of light, there are also a lot of shadows", the organizers noted.

"Today, art synthesizes contemporary forms and modern conceptuality - not to create only an aesthetic experience, but to explore and make sense of it," the organizers pointed out.
