The Earth and Man National Museum has received a valuable donation from the Paraguay’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Bulgaria Juan Francisco Facetti Fernandez, the museum team said in a press release.

“This is a specimen of the geological phenomenon known as columnar sandstone from the Patino Formation in Eastern Paraguay. The specimen was personally collected by Dr. Facetti,” they added.

The Earth and Man National Museum said that there are only a few places in the world where this phenomenon can be observed: Canada, South Africa, Egypt, Israel, and Eastern Paraguay. This is the first specimen from Paraguay to enter the museum’s collection.
