site.btaWriter/Artist Mihail Toshkov to Be Showcased at National Literary Museum

An exhibition dedicated to writer and artist Mihail Toshkov (1931-2024) is opening at the National Literary Museum on June 19. Toshkov's daughter has donated a substantial part of his creative and personal legacy as a poet, art theorist and artist, the National Literature Museum said.
The exhibition will run until the end of August.
The museum's chief curator, Katya Zografova, said Mihail Toshkov had the rare gift of fostering dialogue between the arts. "Before 1989, he was somewhat underappreciated due to his satirical works and caricatures of artists and officials," Zografova said, quoted in the museum's press release. "He passed away aged 93, and his absence has been deeply felt," she said.
Toshkov's works have been translated into English, French, Russian, Hungarian, Finnish and Romanian.
