Bulgarian-French artist Stefan Nikolaev presents his solo exhibition Home in the newly opened Dot Sofia event space. The exposition will be on from September 29 to November 12, Sarieva Gallery said.
"Created especially for the collaboration of Sarieva/Gallery and the new Dot Sofia building, Stefan Nikolaev's exhibition Home, curated by the gallery, explores fragments of this image through a series of new works united by a particular contradiction of symbols and materials," the organizers say.
"With this series of new works, Stefan Nikolaev continues to delve into his long-standing interest in what makes images part of our collective imagination and, in this sense, a shared place," says art historian Desislava Mileva.
Stefan Nikolaev was born in Sofia in 1970 and lives and works in Paris and Sofia. He graduated from the secondary school of art in his hometown (1983-1988), the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris (1988-1994) and the Winchester School of Art, England (1992). He has had numerous solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. His work has been exhibited in the art fairs Paris + Art Basel, ArtBasel, ArtBrussels, FIAC, The Armory Show, ARCO.
