site.btaIntellectual Property Hub to Be Established with Sofia University

An Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Hub will be established at the Institute of Law, Economics and Intellectual Property at Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski, in cooperation with the European Patent Office (EPO), the Ministry of Education and Science reported on Thursday. The Hub will connect science with industry through the protection, management and technology transfer of intellectual property on research developments, technologies and innovations, as set out in a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and Science, Sofia University, the Bulgarian Patent Office and the European Patent Office, which was approved by the Council of Ministers.

The implementation of the Memorandum will continue the cooperation between the signatory institutions in the field of education and training on topics related to intellectual property and technology transfer.

The hub will train professionals and provide relevant patent information for research and development.

The administration of the hub will be taken over by the Institute of Law, Economics and Intellectual Property.
