Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov held a bilateral meeting with Poland’s Deputy Prosecutor General Jacek Bilewicz during the 19th meeting of the Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General and Heads of Prosecution Services of the EU Member States, taking place in The Hague, the Netherlands, the Bulgarian Prosecution Service said on Thursday.

The two officials discussed the good cooperation and active interaction between the Bulgarian and Polish prosecution services, as well as opportunities to continue the exchange of best practices to improve the efficiency of investigative bodies in combating cross-border crime.

Sarafov and Bilewicz also addressed a specific case involving a joint investigation between the prosecution services of Bulgaria, Poland, and Ukraine.

To further strengthen judicial cooperation in criminal matters, Sarafov extended an official invitation to the Polish Prosecutor General to visit Bulgaria.
