site.btaGERB Leader Borissov: President Radev Displays Persistent Hostility Towards Government

GERB leader Boyko Borissov criticized President Rumen Radev’s persistent hostility towards him and the government at the launch of the party’s youth organization academy in Panagyurishte on Saturday.

Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev and GERB MP and regional committee chair Nikolay Nankov also attended.

Borissov addressed President Rumen Radev’s claims that the government prevents ministers from attending events with the President. Borissov explained that cabinet members independently decide not to participate, as “the unifier never misses an opportunity to publicly criticize his political opponents, including ordinary MPs like myself.”

Borissov asserted that Radev uses state resources and the media to make baseless accusations without permitting questions. “I allow ministers to attend, but they cannot share a platform with someone who has appropriated the role of party leader. I do not understand the hostility and animosity he displays,” Borissov said.
