Three persons from one family were found dead from gunshot wounds in a vehicle near the town of Slivnitsa in Sofia Region, the Interior Ministry said on Friday. A medical team arrived promptly but found that all three were dead, the Sofia Emergency Medical Centre told BTA.

The police received a report on Friday morning that a family had sent a video to their relatives, indicating that they wanted to take their own lives. An immediate search effort was launched, including a visit to their home and patrols in and around Slivnitsa.

During the search, the bodies of a 53-year-old man, his 53-year-old wife and their 26-year-old son were found. All three had sustained gunshot wounds, and the weapon used was found in the vehicle.

A crime scene investigation is currently underway. The police are acting under the supervision of a prosecutor, the Interior Ministry said.
