Bulgarian National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova extended congratulations to tennis players Ivan Ivanov and Alexander Vasilev following their participation in a historic all-Bulgarian final at the US Open Boys’ Singles on Saturday.

"I was delighted to hear the news of your historic title win at the US Open," Kiselova said in an address to Ivan Ivanov, as quoted by the National Assembly’s press centre. "It is an honour for me to congratulate the Bulgarian who held up the trophy of this prestigious Grand Slam tournament," she added.

"I am confident that you will continue to give your all for every point, set, and match and earn well-deserved victories on the global tennis stage. The whole of Bulgaria watched your remarkable triumph and shares in your joy," the Parliament Chair said.

In her congratulatory address to Alexander Vasilev, Kiselova said that "his ranking and admirable performance in the final were a source of admiration and pride for every Bulgarian and every athlete."

"I am confident that this marks the beginning of a long and successful journey at the highest levels of world tennis. I believe that your dedication to training and your drive for success will continue to lead you forward and upward in the rankings," Kiselova said.

"You brought great joy to Bulgaria by greeting everyone in our native language on Unification Day," the Parliament Chair noted. "Your gesture deserves admiration and shows how much you love Bulgaria," she said, expressing her confidence that Vasilev’s performance will inspire young people across Bulgaria.

Kiselova also thanked the Bulgarian Tennis Federation for its continued efforts to "create opportunities for this country’s sporting talents to shine and make tennis even more popular among young people in Bulgaria."
