site.btaParliament to Begin Friday Sitting with Question Time
The National Assembly will open its Friday sitting at 9:00 a.m. with question time, according to the weekly parliamentary agenda.
Under parliamentary rules, during the first up to two hours of the sitting on the first Friday of every month, the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers appear before the National Assembly to answer current oral questions from MPs concerning the government’s overall policy.
Each parliamentary group is entitled to ask two current questions, while independent MPs are entitled to a total of two questions. The questions may not request detailed numerical data.
Regular question time is scheduled for 11:00 am, with eight ministers taking part: Miroslav Borshosh – Tourism, Atanas Zapryanov – Defence, Georgi Georgiev – Justice, Silvi Kirilov – Health, Marian Bachev – Culture, Manol Genov – Environment and Water, Petar Dilov – Economy, Valentin Mundrov – e-Government. .
Due to his absence abroad, Regional Development Minister Ivan Ivanov will not take part in question time, Parliament Chair Nataliya Kiselova announced.
