The Ministry of Education and Science approved the schedule for the next school year here on Wednesday. As initially proposed by the Ministry, both students and teachers will have days off from October 31 to November 3, its press office announced on Wednesday.

The Christmas holiday will run from December 24 to January 4, while the spring break for students from 1st to 11th grade will be from April 4 to April 13. For graduating 12th-graders, the break will begin a little later - on April 8.

The mid-term break will last three days - from January 31 to February 2. The schedule also outlined March 2 (Monday) as a non-school day. Combined with the national holiday on March 3, this will give students a four-day break.

As usual, the matriculation exams will be held on non-school days. The mandatory state matriculation exam in Bulgarian language and literature is scheduled for May 20, and the second exam - for May 22. Following a proposal by school principals, and in order not to disrupt the teaching process for an entire week, the dates of the matriculation exams and of the national external assessments in the 7th and 10th grades will also be non-school days - June 17 and June 19.
