Mountain hiking conditions are poor on Monday, the Mountain Rescue Service with the Bulgarian Red Cross (MRS) told BTA.

The terrain is wet, with rainfall still reported in some areas. Temperatures remain relatively low, ranging between 5C and 10C. The MRS warned of light to moderate winds in the higher mountain parts.

No tourist incidents were registered in the past 24 hours. The MRS advised that hiking should only be undertaken with proper equipment and a well-charged mobile phone. Daylight hours are getting shorter, sunsets are earlier, and mountain temperatures are dropping, the MRS further warned.
