site.btaBulgaria Approves Draft Agreement with Italy for Joint Construction and Operation of Military Facilities

The Council of Ministers Wednesday adopted a decision approving a draft defence cooperation agreement between the governments of Bulgaria and Italy focusing on the joint construction and operation of military facilities in the Kabile military area.

In line with Bulgaria's commitments as a full-fledged member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), military infrastructure will be built for the multinational battlegroup based in Bulgaria. 

The construction of military facilities in the Kabile military area is a strategic step towards strengthening the defense capabilities of Bulgaria and NATO. It will provide the necessary infrastructure for the deployment and maintenance of the multinational battlegroup and will allow for its future expansion, said the government press service.
