site.btaParliament Decides to Reduce Tuition Fee in Universities
On Thursday, Parliament adopted at second reading amendments to the Higher Education Act, stipulating that tuition fees "cannot be lower than 60% of the funds for maintaining education in the relevant professional field plus the fee for students on state contracts. The current law requires the fee to be 100% of the maintenance costs.
The difference of 40% will also have to correspond to the percentage reduction in the amounts, MPs decided. The amendments to the Higher Education Act will enter into force for the upcoming 2025/2026 academic year.
