Sofia Municipality is providing residents with information about planned traffic changes through the Waze application, Sofia City Hall’s press centre said on Tuesday.

The Traffic Management and Analysis Directorate of Sofia Municipality will be sharing preliminary information about planned traffic changes with the map editors of Waze. Until now, residents of Sofia could only find out about traffic changes from the Sofia Municipality website, and data in the application was added by volunteers only after the changes were published on the website, which led to some delay.

In addition to informing drivers in the city, the Waze for Cities programme also offers an analytical module for traffic, which monitors specific sections and routes in the city for the purpose of analyzing delays and heavy traffic, which Sofia Municipality plans to use for the continued improvement of traffic organization.
