Wednesday will see a cold front pushing across Bulgaria. Cumulus cloud will develop in the north of the country and in some southern areas, bringing brief thundery showers. Hailstorms are possible. The southeast will get mostly sunny skies. The wind in most of the country will be northwesterly, moderate; temporarily strong in the Danubian Plain and the western part of the Thracian Valley. Highs will range widely, from 26-27 C in the west to 38-39 C in the southeast (where the wind will blow from the southeast, to turn northerly in the early evening).
The coast: Mostly sunny, with some cloudy spells. Wind southeasterly, light to moderate; to turn northwesterly and to become temporarily strong in the early evening. Highs: 28 C to 32 C. Sea water temperatures: 25 C to 26 C. Sea waves: 2 to 3 degrees Douglas.
The mountains: Cumulus cloud over the western highlands, where isolated brief showers and thunder are expected. Abundant rain is forecast in the Balkan Range, where hailstorms are possible. Moderate and strong southwesterly wind, to turn west-northwesterly, pushing cool air into the mountains. Highs: 29 C at 1,200 metres above sea level, 17 C at 2,000 metres.
