Yes, Bulgaria called on the National Revenue Agency (NRA) to collect accurate data on rising food prices in Bulgaria within two weeks. “They released price data last week, we received it, and it is completely useless. There is no methodology, data on cheese and butter is missing, and several regions of the country are not included,” Yes, Bulgaria co-leader Bozhidar Bozhanov said on the sidelines of Parliament on Friday. He said it was absolutely scandalous to make public insinuations and spread fear based on such flawed information.

The party called on the NRA and its executive director, Rumen Spetsov, to gather real data and present it publicly within two weeks. Bozhanov noted that Spetsov should resign for “scaring people with unfounded claims.”

Asked whether Spetsov, who was appointed by former Finance Minister Assen Vassilev, represents a dividing line between Yes, Bulgaria and Continue the Change (Yes, Bulgaria is a member of the Democratic Bulgaria coalition that currently shares a parliamentary group with Continue the Change), Bozhanov replied: “When we’re talking about wrong actions, I don’t think there’s a dividing line.” He also noted that Spetsov remains in his position under the current finance minister, Temenuzhka Petkova.
