The Prosecutors Chamber of the Supreme Judicial Council elected Daniela Popova as Sofia's appellate prosecutor. Popova as the only candidate was elected unanimously.

She has worked in the judiciary since 2000. Her career began at the Slivnitsa District Prosecutor’s Office.

In her reasons for running for the post, Popova said she was driven by her professional commitment to the enforcement of the law. She stated that she would work for its effective management and advocated for ethics and transparency.

Popova said that people's trust can be won through actions based on competence, fairness and responsibility.
