There are 52 foreign students studying at the European Polytechnical University (EPU) in the town of Pernik, the EPU Rector, Prof. Ivan Petkov told BTA. Of them, 15 come from EU countries.
There are students from Nigeria, Cameroon, Russia, Syria, Pakistan, Greece and Germany, some of them are studying in the Bachelor's programmes: Applied Computer Science, Green Energetics and Civil Engineering. Another part of the foreign students are enrolled in the Master's programmes: Information Technology Management, Personal Data Security and Solar Energetics.
The educational institution said that it has taken steps to obtain institutional accreditation from the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation, which accredits and monitors the quality of higher education in Bulgaria. The procedure will continue 18 months.
The EPU was founded in 2010. The university is dedicated to personalized learning, empowering students and PhD candidates to reach their full potential in an ever-evolving global landscape, the website of the educational institution says.
