site.btaRuen Municipality Joins MRF - New Beginning's Regional Development Strategy

Ruen Municipality in southeastern Bulgaria, a stronghold of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), has joined the New Beginning for Regional Development strategy, the MRF – New Beginning’s press service said on Wednesday.

MRF – New Beginning Floor Leader Delyan Peevski met with the municipality’s mayor, Ahmed Mehmed, the press release added. 

During the meeting, Mayor Mehmed said that the decision to join the platform was supported by all MRF structures, municipal councillors, and mayors of the settlements within the municipality. 

The strategy emphasizes maintaining close contact with citizens and addressing their concerns, a point highlighted during the meeting.

The sides discussed tackling the ongoing water shortages affecting villages in the municipality, where taps have been running dry every summer for years, as well as the need to build and reinforce infrastructure.

Also attending the meeting were MRF – New Beginning Deputy Floor Leader Halil Letifov, MRF deputy chairperson and Belitsa Mayor Radoslav Revanski, MPs Ismail Osman, Hyusein Hafazov and Kalin Stoyanov, MRF regional leader in Burgas Hristo Shirokov, Sungurlare Municipality Mayor Dimitar Gavazov, and former MP Durhan Mustafa, the press release said.
