Currently, 51 foreign students are studying at the University of Telecommunications and Post, the university told BTA. Four of these students are citizens of European Union member states, which shows that the majority of foreign students come from countries outside the EU.
“Our foreign students come from 14 different countries, among which Albania, Turkiye, India, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kosovo, the Republic of North Macedonia, Nepal and Vietnam stand out. This shows that the University attracts students from three continents, Europe, Asia and to a lesser extent from Africa, with Asian countries dominating in terms of number of students,” the university said.
The specialties that are most preferred by foreign applicants are usually in areas with professional application, including Information and Communication Technologies, and Management in Telecommunications. These programs often combine theoretical knowledge with practical internships and opportunities for international mobility.
The University of Telecommunications and Post said that when it comes to motivation, fees certainly play a role, but they are not the only factor. “Foreign students are attracted by the opportunity to obtain a type D visa, which allows them long-term residence, as well as a European diploma recognized within the EU. This shows an interest not only in the accessibility of education, but also in its quality and the prospects it provides,” the university added.
