site.btaMECh: Next No-confidence Vote Should Be Over Domestic Policy
We communicated that the next vote of no confidence in the government should be over its failure in domestic politics to Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria, Velichie, and Vazrazhdane, MECh leader Radostin Vassilev told journalists in Parliament.
“Unfortunately, I now understand that Democratic Bulgaria have said they are not planning a vote of no confidence before September, which is extremely hypocritical,” he added. According to him, MECh sees no desire from Democratic Bulgaria to actually overthrow the government and go to elections.
Now I understand that GERB in the face of the group's deputy floor leader Kostadin Angelov have practically removed confidence from this minister, from now on there is no way back for Daniel Mitov, Radostin Vassilev commented.
Regarding the death of a man in police custody in Varna, the leader of the MECh commented that this is a disease already in the system of the Ministry of Interior. In his words, this is happening because of the many years of politically incompetent appointments. "Daniel Mitov is the most incompetent minister who has ever appeared in this ministry and he should have left a long time ago, when we all found out in the hall that he was protecting the smuggling channels in Plovdiv, that he was protecting an organized criminal group operating on the territory of the Interior Ministry's Burgas Department, and because there are no angels and demons for him in the system, there are obviously some people who need to be politically used," Vassilev said.
Vassilev said that MECh will support a bill of Democratic Bulgaria on body cameras worn by police officers.
Regarding Thursday's announced protest of Vazrazhdane in front of the GERB headquarters, Radostin Vassilev commented that according to him and his colleagues from MECh this is an agreement between GERB and Vazrahdane. The only purpose of this protest, which is fictitious, is to place Vazrazhdane as a possible opposition to GERB entity, which it is not, he said. "It should be clear to everyone that Kostadinov is a pet for Boyko Borissov, who is used whenever things get tense," Vassilev said.
