Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov held a meeting with European Union (EU) Commissioner for Economy and Productivity and for Implementation and Simplification Valdis Dombrovskis and with the ambassadors of the EU Member States, Zhelyazkov wrote in a post on the social network X on Wednesday.
“I thank the ambassadors of the EU Member States for the productive meeting with me and Valdis Dombrovskis regarding the positive convergence report on Bulgaria’s adoption of the euro. Attending the meeting were also Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova and Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev,” Zhelyazkov wrote.
On Thursday, Zhelyazkov held a bilateral meeting with Dombrovskis. The talks were attended by EU Commissioner for Start-ups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva and the Finance Minister. They discussed the challenges and necessary steps for Bulgaria after the European Commission and the European Central Bank said that Bulgaria is fully ready to join the eurozone from January 1, 2026, having met all convergence criteria.
