The Vertical Gas Corridor is a project of significant engineering challenges, said Kalin Peshov, Chairman of the Board of Glavbolgarstroy, during an inspection near the village of Mikrevo, Strumyani Municipality, on Thursday. Glavbolgarstroy is а contractor in the project.
Peshov outlined several specific technical challenges, including five crossings under the Struma River, twelve under railway lines, and three under highways, among others.
Currently, 450 workers are engaged on-site. “We managed to bring in two ships of pipes from India,” he noted.
He emphasized the project’s international scope, both in scale and participation. Key components come from various countries: cameras from Germany, automation from a US company, electronics from Italy, valves from Turkiye, and other components from Greece.
Peshov said that the project would be completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards, in full compliance with the contract.
