Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov presented a progress report on the implementation of the cabinet’s governance programme at a news briefing at the Council of Ministers' building on Wednesday. In his words, the programme outlines 100 priorities across 19 sectors, structured with a vision for a full four-year term. A total of 257 specific goals are expected to be achieved through the implementation of a total of 710 measures, Zhelyazkov explained.
"We aim to launch regular meetings to provide updates on the implementation of the measures in Bulgaria’s governance programme, which runs through 2029," the Prime Minister said. He recalled that the government adopted its four-year programme on February 24, 2025, noting that "this is the fastest-adopted programme in the past 15 years – just 38 days after the government was elected".
Zhelyazkov underscored that the programme was developed based on commitments to improve quality of life, establish a fair judicial system, and foster a growth-friendly and efficient economy. Each measure in the programme, he said, is tied to performance indicators that are closely monitored by the Council of Ministers’ administration and the relevant line ministries. The governance programme also includes a six-month legislative agenda and an operational programme of the Council of Ministers, he added.
