May he work with wisdom and dedication for a more peaceful world and dialogue among all," Zhelyazkov wrote on X. "I am confident that he will be an advocate for the weak and those in need around the world," the Prime Minister added.

Earlier in the day, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was elected as the new pope and has taken the name Leo XIV, according to a live broadcast on the Holy See’s official portal, Vatican News.
