Improving education quality and pupil performance remains a strategic priority for the Bulgarian Government, the Government press service said here on Thursday.

The Cabinet approved an agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, part of the World Bank Group, to advise on collecting, storing and sharing educational data at national and school levels. Experts will review existing sources and recommend ways to build a comprehensive monitoring system that lets schools self-assess and react quickly to performance indicators.

Nearly 200 schools will pilot information dashboards showing school-level and national statistics, helping headteachers identify strengths and weaknesses and plan development. Aggregated data will also guide long-term policy decisions.

The two-year project is financed by the EU’s Education Programme 2021–2027.
