Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov conferred with Czechia’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Miroslav Toman, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

The two sides put emphasis on the excellent bilateral dialogue between Bulgaria and Czechia, as well as the long-standing cultural ties between their peoples. The meeting discussed prospects for further deepening bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest such as economy and investment, tourism, security and defence, as well as cooperation within the EU and NATO.

Kondov expressed appreciation for the Czechia's consistent support for Bulgaria's accession to Schengen and briefed Toman on the progress of Bulgaria's eurozone accession process.

Kondov and Toman also discussed topical issues on the European and Euro-Atlantic agenda, including the European perspective for the Western Balkan countries, the need for continued support for Ukraine, security in the Black Sea, as well as the upcoming informal NATO Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Prague.
