A leadership meeting in Parliament on Wednesday between GERB-UDF and Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) led to an agreement that all the issues regarding the State Budget will be resolved, said CC-DB co-chair Kiril Petkov, referring to the Tuesday disputes in the Budget Committee, which adopted on second reading the draft State Budget for 2023 at an over 10-hour long meeting. “Bulgaria will have a budget that will really serve the Bulgarian citizens,” he stressed.

The majority is consolidating around decisions related to revenue measures in the budget, about which there was doubt in the committee on Tuesday, said Democratic Bulgaria co-leader Hristo Ivanov. The companies to which the e-payment measures will be applied will have more than 100 people in their staff, as opposed to the original idea of having more than 50. The other measures will be supported, he clarified.

Ivanov added that the texts regarding the mechanism for governing and decision-making between GERB-UDF and CC-DB are also being clarified.

At the Committee on Budget and Finance meeting on Tuesday, some wrong decisions were taken, which do not provide the financial framework that was previously prepared by the Council of Ministers, and was submitted to the National Assembly for decision, stated Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov before the start of today's government meeting.

He expressed hope that the leaders of the parties supporting the government would honour their commitment for adjustments so that the government programme could be implemented. "Without its financial backing, it will remain just a set of good intentions," Denkov added.
