1879: Bulgarian National Bank performs its first monetary transaction, accepting 8,687,043 francs deposit from State. 

1914: Diplomatic relations established with Sweden at legation level (upgraded to embassy level on January 14, 1964).

1935: Ivan Vazov Museum House opens in national poet's native town Sopot (Central Bulgaria).

1977: Diplomatic relations established with Comoros.

1990: Diplomatic relations established with Namibia.
